What an excellent day for a…

Work at our studio. Starting with work on the “Iron Giant” molds, more on the submarine client build, work on our TV pilot, oh and more on the scratch build slot car formula car. All fun, positive and important things to do.

Classical  music goes on as our only source of media for full focus on important matters.

Yeaterday we did more work on all the above. I just saw our trailer with Thomas Martin’s score added and it’s great. We will launch the trailer tomorrow.

The “Iron Giant” had a few more issues that need to be addressed and now it’s time to mold the head.

The chassis for the slot cars is coming along and the gapping and seaming on the Valiant are proceeding well.

In addition Samaria worked on the face plate mold for the tricorder and got the front face cast in silicone. The second half gets cast today.

Its a great day for creativity we won’t be focused or paying attention to anything else.

Stuff around the studio

Been busy with the theatrical trailer effects and edit forour TV pilot: http://www.butsomethingisthere.wordpress.com

Also the TNG tricorder molds which are all done with the exception of the scanners and face plate.

We Start molding the Iron Giant head today and I have been working on the client build of the RC Valiant class nuke boat. At this point I’m blending and gapping the hull fit. All the mechanics and electronics are done.

Giselle made her teeth molds and it preparing to cast them today and Sammira is hard at work on the face plate for the tricorder mold.

Busy fun stuff. Oh! And I’ve started a dry assembly of the formula one slot car chassis for my scratch built T73 Cooper.

But something is there

We have been in production now for months. We are 3/4 of the way in shooting, postproduction and visual effects. We are funded and we haven’t just made a trailer hopeful like so many we can make a show. This is real and this is the short teaser trailer made by Brad Hoplock with a narrative by best selling author Whitley Stieber and a score by Tomas Martin based on a theme I wrote.

The 2 and half minute trailer with live action and effects from the 1 hour pilot will be seen in the new trailer due out in a couple of weeks. You kgutnik have seen this before but the difference is the score which Tommie and I worked hard on to get write.mi finally whistled the music I heard for it and he composed it into the music you hear.

More progress at the studio

Been easing into the new year this week. Got all the work done on my big 72 inch U -Boat all done. All the leaks plugged.

Added the rudder extensions to my clients X-Craft midget submarine. They are removeable for display while invisible in the water and should effect a tighter turning radius.

And back to our favorite Robot (mine anyway). I found some flat areas feeling the surfaces with my hands. A bit of Evercoat Metal glaze putty and a plastic card and he’s really smooth. Put a ton of primer on him and I’d say he’s ready to mold next week.

Rosie on the bed with her favorite toy, “yellow ball” after a heavy round of playing she gets every morning without fail.

Tricorder molds of the main body are all done thanks to Jim and Samira we are on to the small parts.

another great week here at SNG.

Our new big telescope

Mary and I got a new telescope. A Zhumell 12 inch Newtonian, Dobsonian scope.

with this huge ligh bucket we will see galaxies and nebula better than we could see them with the Celestron C-8. Much better.

Wonderful scope, well made. Can’t wait for clear warmer weather and a moonless night.

Getting ready for a Regatta

We have a Regatta coming up and I decided to take my largest sub out for the first time in years. Matt Thor sent me this hull (and that was all it was ) back in 2009.

It was a mess and had been stowed away for years in the rafters of an old garage. Slowly over a few months I built and scratch built much of what you see here. All the internals are old school water tight boxes because at the time my funds were tight and I had to work with what I had.

My dear friend BigDave designed the ballast system which uses RCABS and a low pressure snort system. He got everything to work off of a 4 channel radio too!

The first tests in my pool were exstrodinary. It worked perfect the first time.

When my late wife became ill it was neglected for years. From time to time I’d just run the system with a battery and check the seals.

This week I checked and there was no power to the ESC. She was dead Jim. So I opened up the compartment and found that connectors inside had corroded. Fixed that and she’s back online. Everything works again like a clock. Now to chase the few air pressure leaks I found with silicone and she’s ready to go.

Out of all the subs I wanted the VIIC or Type 7, a large Type 7 was always the most desired and the one I wanted the most.
