Marty on the roof at the end about to have a serious talk with me. We are two shots way from the finish and Gary’s footage gets cut in today. Next week the first true trailer.
As Gary Hughes says: “Stand by for Action!”
I can’t tell you what a great time I had today for 7 hours moving splines. Really I’m being a smart ass. It was… Ya we had Marty shot against green screen and still rods, wires and even people still showed up. After many KeyLights in After Effects and so on the garbage matt was the only answer. One frame at a time. But Marty now lives and is cut into the time line. Except for Gary’s footage all live action is done and cut in. Tom’s ending effects are incredible and we just about have a movie. More next week!

Spent the day cleaning the Skyray, working on another Cochran and a bit of work on the Battle star while editing our show which will be up today. Lots of coverage on how to make a Kirk Puppet and canopy form with a bit of slot car body and Battle Star thrown in. Hope you all enjoy it it’s a long one this time. Here are some pictures of the Battle Star. Lots to do yet, light leaks, Armor, painting and so on. But we are getting there. Unfortunately I’m missing armor on the engine pods.
Short day today I was only able to do hands on work for about 4 hours today but never the less I baked out the Skyray Canopy form. It still needs npmore work but it should be ready to pull a canopy on tomorrow.
I also got the Star Trek the Motion Picture Kirk puppet framed up today. Next to detail, light and paint.
And lastly my scratch built Vampire built back in 1999 is being restored to flying condition once again after being retired for years.
More tomorrow!
A busy day on Monday. Lots of different stuff done. Another pass on he Cooper body. Eliot Brown sends us more cool stuff. Folding shuttles, this corrugated brass for nacelles, rain Burke chairs and brass bases for them.
Started our own ” Star Trek the Motion Picture” Kirk space suit puppet.
Lastly sculpted or shaped a balsa plug for the Skyray restoration. Then I made a mold of the balsa plug so I could cast it in stone in order to completely smooth the form to a glassy surface. Tomorrow I will dry the form out in the curing oven and sand it super smooth and remove all the flaws after which I can then vacuum form the canopy.
