    Using acid flux? The reason Not to use acid is over time the electrical connection may become a cold solder connection and create intermittent problems. If using rosin core solder there is no need to add flux. Acid flux solder is used on metals, such as doing car radiators. When soldering, a person should tin both wires and Then putting them together all that is needed is heating the connection and the solder will flow between the two. When using a soldering iron a person should always clean the tip with a wet sponge and coat it with solder when first shut off. When I do soldering I spend more time doing all the tinning than actually soldering the connection. It is actually quicker this way.
