    Thanks for the name-check, Steve. The Big D is such a beautiful model that I’m happy to have done something with it that you liked.

    Of course, now I’m looking forward to more of your models on a green screen. Oh, the possibilities…

    Back to my current 3D challenge: UV unwrapping a low-poly (11k) “Constitution” class mesh I made for the Unity3D engine and trying to combine them all into one map. It’s been…um…a test of character.

    I totally understand the urge to buy that Saturn V. Last week I was fighting the urge to spend $210 on a 1:12 scale 2001 EVA Pod from Atomic City. $229 with shipping.

    I’m sure the heat was a factor (we rarely get over 100 here , so I don’t have a lot of practical experience) but i’m thinking the residue was caused by spraying the clear coat over the vinyl. I’ve seen vinyl get softer and gooy-er after being sprayed with clear coat especially if it was enamel. sorry to cause the hiccup
