I love the blaster. Forbidden Planet is such an awesome movie, I love everything from it. 😀 I agree, that sound you recorded is definitely better than the sound of the blasters firing. I’ve had commercially produced blasters and phasers where they record the sound of it hitting/vaporizing something, so it makes sense for you to do that with these. It’s a shame that so many boards are bad. That may have something to do with Radio Shack’s financial woes, their quality may be slipping due to that. Anywho, the blaster is awesome. 😀

Always loved that Blaster from Forbidden Planet it was clean and elegent no fancy lights, buttons or other gimmicks. It came across as real the end product of R&D and field experience to create a rugged weapon able to hold up to whatever conditons it ran into. It looked like it would work every time reliable and rugged. Quite the opposite of far to many weapons shown on screen in many series and films. The nearest IMHO other films have come to it in areas of suspension of disbelief are the Heavy harness mounted pulse gun from Aliens and the PPG from Babylon 5. Yes TOS/TOS film Phasers (Hate TNG ones! Dust busters are not Phasers!) and Klingon Disruptors are cool but to be honest the size and what they do are kind of out of proportion.
