TOS Miranda-class would be so cool, but… would it be USS Copernicus from New Voyages like or something from the Cygnus-x1 files?
The name, the name must be a good motive.

I’ve seen the ship in the Smithsonian, Steve. No matter what else they screwed up with the restoration, it still doesn’t look like it has scribed lines. They look like they’re still penciled on.

I’m looking forward to seeing that TOS Reliant. Since we have nothing to contradict such a theory, a lot of people think the ship did exist in that era and there are a lot of great designs out there.

I’d heard it before about the original 11 footer at the Smithsonian but Doug Drexler confirmed it again today. I’m paraphrasing here:

To date, the top of the saucer on the 11 footer is in original filming condition. It was the only part of the model the restoration team was not allowed to alter in any fashion. THEY WERE INDEED PENCILED IN. So all us modellers need to put on our environmental suits, grab a can of BONDO, head out of the airlock and fill those little stinkers in on our 1/350. Seriously though, to each their own. But you are right: They were never scribed in on the 11 footer.

    Keep gluin’,

    Uncle Ted.
