It sounds like you got really lucky on that lighting thing. But, you know what they say, it’s better to be lucky than good. 😉 BTW, the things on the side top and bottom of the saucer that you’re calling shuttle bays aren’t the shuttle bays. I don’t know for certain, but I think those are for the inspection pods or cargo loading (Doug could tell you for certain, of course.) I know the thing in the back that you’ve not yet built is for maintenance, Doug covered that in one of his blog posts. The actual shuttle bays are underneath in the center. There are four doors clustered together, two for the ship’s shuttle pods, two more for docking other craft. Those are the only doors we ever actually saw in action. 🙂
Incredible save by the incredible Steve! Nicely done! The NX-01 is looking more gorgeous than ever now. Really loving that ship… Keep up the great work, I look forward to your new reports every morning.
If Romulans are watching your videos, they may start working on a weapons system to simply knock out lights on starships. So glad you caught that in time, Steve.
As to the time machine, the comment by Carwin was quite interesting. The dish probably being banged out by hand by George in his workshop. Got to love ‘working with the story’.
