Day 11 on the chair…

The chair will be done Saturday. I’ll be back to the CGI bridge and writing a script.

Next two weeks are heavy for kit making and catching up but I’ll make some progress along the way. I hope to shoot in two weeks.

The arms could be better. I had problems with the clear coat and it got a texture to it. This is what I get trying to rush things along. I’m hoping to re-sand and fix them up a bit more and when I have time down the road make new ones.

She’s pretty much ready to vinyl. Still a few issues with how the chair sits.

All the lights and some switches are working. Even the Com pushes and lights up.

Steve… have you done any filming on the making of the chair and the connections for the buttons and lights? It’s looking FANTASTIC!!! The arms are great, you made them look spot on… I can’t wait to see the chair light up and you in it… Just remember, It seems to be Rosie’s chair more than yours…LOL

Hi Steve, it’s Jim’s wife here. I just had to post and tell you how much I look forward to each new set of pictures of the chair. I can’t wait to see it completed.

    hey Steve,
That chair is neat, really like the way you made the arm rests yourself instead of taking them off another piece of furniture. Is there a standard set of plans for this project ? thanks again for sharing your modeling tips with the rest of us. Jeff Jones

Steve… It’s been my dream since I was a kid to be able to just press any button on the bridge, Let alone on Kirk’s chair!!! I got caught in Canada Star Trek Experience when I tried to even touch one botton on spocks station.. Thrown out!!!

It looks killer and you just make it look so great fast and easy!!! Can’t wait for your “Making of the Center Seat” video.
