Byrons type 212 under construction

This is a kit I made a few years ago. I sold quite a few and one of them was sold to my friend Byron.  He’s had it for awhile now and sent it to me to build.

BigDave built the cylinder for it and did his usual fantastic job.

Today I got most of the hull assembled. Tail feathers on and control horns installed and functional. There’s a separation line on both halves of the hull to show the builder where they are supposed to meet. A bit of hand sanding and then flat sanding made for a nice fit.

I cut the stern section and attached it after I got the X tails hooked up and working. Then I glued it back on.

Sail is trimmed and fitted. Although I have the top holes to cut out for the bridges and scope-masts.

I also managed to get the prop, shaft and shaft bearing all installed too.

Right about the time I finished all of this the cylinder showed up. Perfect timing I will need this tomorrow.

 More tomorrow,

 Steve
