Update

The Seaview is finished and ran well but experienced some problems with the water tight cylinder or module which is now on it’s way back to the UK for modification based on my data of two days of tests in my pool. I hope to have the module back in a couple of weeks and get the under water video I failed to shoot this last weekend. I was too busy getting the boat trim to have had time for it.

Today I had to do a little test of a storm at sea for a potential client project. I used Lightwave and after effects.

And tomorrow I start my first in a line of masks soon to be for sale signed and numbered by me of course.

And here’s the first one. My old time favorite Outer Limits episode, “The Sixth Finger.” It was one of those things that inspired me as a young boy to get into make-up and visual effects.

The nice thing about this make-up, and soon to be a mask, was the fact that I worked with and was a friend of the famous John Chambers. Additionally I was a friend of Fred Phillips who applied the make up. Fred also got me one of my first jobs on, “Star Trek the Motion Picture.” This one is for you guys.

Fred was the head makeup artist for Star Trek and outer limits. John Chambers was famous for his creation of the make-ups in “Planet of the Apes.” Both passed away some years ago and are very missed.

I want to thank Howard Berger for the life mask he made me up to sculpt the mask on!

More tomorrow.
Steve
