A little paint

So here it is all painted and ready to graft on to the body.

Beth Hathaway my step daughter is doing the fabrication of the body and wardrobe currently. Beth has worked on everything from Juristic Park, Terminator 2, to the Narna pictures and more. Do a goggle search on her for more of her work. She’s actually worked on my movies than I have at this point and continues her career at KNB effects.

Thanks Howard! 😉

Foo Alien, “Oh those eyes!”

A line from the script when the alien is found dead. It’s in rubber now. Next to seam it and give it a paint job. This is the fun part.

Gee you think I’ve done this before? Came out perfect the first time. Good!

Looks good.

Not bad.

Couldn’t resist popping the eyes in for a look. OK lets paint this thing.

More to come.

Foo Alien

So I got the mold opened and clean out. Came out just fine. Today I ran a latex and polyfoam head. Will pop it out of the mold tomorrow. Stay tuned!

Foo Fighters Dead Alien

So today I made the mold. Tomorrow it gets opened up and cleaned out. And Monday I cast a head out of the mold in rubber and poly foam. Like old times doing this stuff. The first time I ever made such a mold was in 73!

Mike you must remember the molds I made in your Dad’s garage.

More to come.

A bit of tweaking on the new trailer:

Foo Fighters continues

Been working on the sculpture and finished it for our dead alien body scene. The pilots fine it face down at the crash site and kick it over to reveal it’s face. Additionally it will be used in the scene where the freezer is opened at 60 years or more to reveal the long kept body on ice. The body is being constructed by myself with the fabrication, costume and finishing by the famous Beth Hathaway. My step daughter.

Here’s a picture of the clay sculpture and another with a bit of photoshop to see how it will look with eyes and a bit of paint. Mold tomorrow and I’ll cast and paint the head this weekend. Once this body is done I can shoot the scenes where they fine it and the reveal in the freezer 60 years later.

Silenter Hunter 5 is amazing

Here’s some screen captures from my career. The graphics are stunning. So far 4 patrols and I haven’t been sunk yet. Close. Fired at. Ran over once. Damn Destroyer turned sharp and I took him out with my stern tube. Just got a new boat and a Market Garden tower. This is a great simulation of WW2 history. Love it.

My other Birthday Gift

Got this sim from Gilly and Beth. I have played the others but this one is the best yet.
This was my first try at using Fraps and Silent hunter 5. For some reason I have yet to discover Fraps interferes with the frame rate of Silent Hunter 5. In game the water effects are as smooth as glass but seem to freeze in slow motion when ever I use fraps. I’m sure I’ll figure out the cause and do a proper video. But even with that bug these graphics are so far beyond the older Silent Hunter Sims. to the point where it makes me shutter to think where thy might be in a few more years. I do CGI for a living and we are getting closer all the time to leaving rendering far behind when you could just use a game engine. Hell these graphics would be perfect for the History Channel and the others since there standards are some what low as it is.

Great game BTW or sim.

My big Birthday Present from Gilly and Beth

The picture speaks volumes. Radio Controlled jet. No propeller. EDF powered. 750 watts at less than 3 pounds will do 80 mph or better. All fiber glass fuse, balsa build up wings.
